Description

Job Description The Director of Spa and Recreation handles assisting in the overall operations of the spa, fitness center and spa café, including maintaining high standards in spa/club services and operations, and maximizing profitability. Requirements 4-year college degree or relevant experience. At least 2 years of experience in club management strongly preferred, with 1 year of management in high quality, luxury-oriented resort spa or destination spa facility. In depth knowledge of the following: fitness prescription, front desk operations, club maintenance and housekeeping, treatment design and creation. LMT or Aesthetics license desired. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. Participate in M. O. D. coverage as required. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the company, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing name-tags. Comply with The Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. Perform other duties as requested by management. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes or breath of a spa employee during a shift. Employees must, always, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Maintain and provide ideas to increase spa & Recreation revenue. Monitor and control departmental expenses and payroll. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all supervisors of spa & Recreation departments. Oversee hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all spa & Recreation staff, with the assistance of supervisors when appropriate Work Experience 4-5 years Salary Negotiable
