Description

Welcome clients to the barber shop • Listen to client's requests and suggest hairstyles according to current male hairstyles trends • Identify hair problems and suggest what treatment is the best for it • Put protective cloths around customers' shoulders • Use tools as scissors, clippers, razors, combs, hairdryer • Wash, cut, trim, curl, color, or straighten and style hair with clippers, combs, scissors, and other equipment • Dry the hair with a hairdryer and make a final styling • Apply lather and shave beards, and neck and temple hair contours, using razors • Apply hot towels on the face to open pores • Shape and trim beards and mustaches with scissors • Give client mirror to check color/cut • Provide skincare and nail treatments • Apply solutions to hair for therapeutic or styling purposes • Apply cleansing or conditioning agents to client hair, scalp, or skin • Possible provision of face, neck, and scalp massages • Provide medical or cosmetic advice for clients • Educate clients and promote other salon services • Emphasize professional hair and beard products benefits and assist clients in the selection of retail products for their hair care needs • Consult clients and advise them of home hair and beard care needs •Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences • Maintains service quality by following standards of the barbershop Some additional responsibilities of a barber include: • Clean and sterilize scissors, combs, clippers, and other instruments • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the barbershop • Schedule clients or cancel appointments at the clients' request • Receive payment from customers for services • Record notes of work done, products used and fees charged after each visit • Perform administrative duties such as hiring and supervising personnel • Maintain the safety of clients by applying standards of the barbershop and legal regulations • Anticipate inventories required for the next period Proactively develop new clients
